Last night was a hard night... but then I arrived at home and, not feeling ready to sleep, I put on a Bridget Jones' Film. I thought laughing was off the table but then she starts with her life troubles, she falls and she laughs... and I laughed so much it even hurted a bit.
That's what I mean.
You don't need a whole film to make you feel... just your favourite Hollywood couple and a friend (your best friend and muse) to make you smile. I was feeling down... then, out of nothing, she sends me a Youtube link to a video from this year's Oscars Red Carpet - the moment Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio share some seconds together in front of us. You see? They are having the time of their lives, together after so much... and I smile. I smiled for then, but also for my dear Diana, who knew I was feeling down and knew how to make me feel better.
Films are important even for those who don't believe it. We have so many problems in our normal lifes - but when you sit down an watch a good movie you can forget about everything. You can smile and laugh even feeling depressed, and you can cry if that's what you need. You can be whatever you cant to be, and feel as much as you want to feel... Actors make us believe and love, they make us realise some things about life and sometimes movies (and yeah, that happened to me!) offer you the answer you were seeking for.
My answer? You should write films. You should fight for the movie making dreams.
And even through dark times... writing films is the one thing that makes me feel on track.
